Improve your Health by reducing Inflammation!

PUBLISHED: OCT 17TH, 2023

Ciao Wellness Friend,

I hope this e-mail finds you safe and well.

On October 16th, we celebrate World Food Day. This day commemorates the founding of the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and along with other organizations, their goal is to celebrate the importance of food in our lives. The topic of focus this year is "Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind." A few weeks ago, I talked about the importance of water in my Newsletter.

And today, I especially wanted to emphasize on the importance of making conscious choices about our diet to reduce inflammation and improve our health.

Inflammation is a natural response of our immune system to protect our body from infections and injuries. However, when inflammation becomes chronic, it can lead to long-term health problems. The good news is that we can combat inflammation by choosing anti-inflammatory foods and adopting healthy eating habits.

Top Anti-Inflammatory Foods

Intentionally include the following foods in your diet to help your body reduce inflammation, especially if you are healing from broken bones or a weakened immune system:

  • green leafy vegetables: kale, chicory, spinach, and collard greens

  • fruits: blueberries, cherries, strawberries, AMLA powder*

  • nuts: almonds and walnuts

PS: I recently discovered (reference: How Not To Die book) that AMLA - Indian Gooseberry, has the highest anti-oxidant levels of all fruits, making it a SuperFood. Check it out! I'm about to try it on a smoothie!

Turmeric, known for its active ingredient curcumin, has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and other benefits.

This yellowish root, mostly used as a spice, has been used in India for thousands of years.

Recent scientific studies review the medicinal and therapeutic potential of its use. Check out PubMed to learn more!

May you have a great rest of your week and hopefully you found value and inspiration in this newsletter: my goal is to inspire you to empower yourself and take control to live your most extraordinary life in BODY +  MIND + SPIRIT!
